Meet Me on the Mile, Back in Chicago for a 2ND Year of Celebrations of Art, Food and Love
After a successful first season in 2021, Meet Me on The Mile returns to Michigan Avenue this summer and fall with a fantastic lineup of Chicago-based artists, performers, food vendors and more. For 40 selected couples this will be the moment of a lifetime, since they get to get married under the Wrigley Building, on the Mile.
A Collaboration to Support Area Businesses and Cultural Institutions
The Magnificent Mile Association (MMA) with support from the City of Chicago, introduces Meet Me on The Mile, an outdoor activation series that supports area businesses and nearby cultural institutions with programming to entice locals and tourists alike to celebrate Chicago’s reopening. Last year, Meet me on the mile was organized between July 22 and October 24th, the success of the endeavor ensuring its 2022 comeback.
Meet Me on The Mile will feature free entertainment in outdoor plazas on select Thursdays throughout the district. The series will also offer extraordinary pedestrian access to portions of North Michigan Avenue, closed to traffic, one Sunday each month between August and October for the Sunday Spectacles. Plan to spend several hours of your day exploring Chicago’s world-famous architecture, enjoying live programming and activations in pedestrian-friendly zones on the Avenue, and shop and dine throughout the district. The Magnificent Mile Association cannot wait to Meet You on The Mile, with plenty of reasons to enjoy yourself, from listening to great music and eating equally great food to taking zumba and Bollywood dancing lessons under the sun.
Festivals for Locals and Visitors Alike, to Enjoy Chicago at Its Fullest
Chicago has many world-renowned festivals and events which came back this year, after the pandemic suspended celebrations for a long two years, for people to enjoy music, food, music, culture, art, and history. Although the Windy City has enough festivals to fill all seasons, the summer brings the best ones. The Dream Wedding for 40 Couples
The splendor of Michigan Avenue will be in full effect during the return of the Meet Me on The Mile events from August 18, 2022, to October 1, 2022. A full calendar of free cultural, culinary and health-focused happenings will bring even more activity to the Gold Coast neighborhood.
The iconic “Magnificent Mile” will host artists, musicians, food vendors and more in outdoor locations along North Michigan Avenue. The series of nine events will culminate with 40 couples selected to get married under the Wrigley Building arch with “Weddings at Wrigley”, on October 1, 2022.
Meet Me on the Mile brings back a very appreciated event which is the most important day in many young people’s lives. Weddings at Wrigley: An Enchanted Evening is sponsored by the City of Chicago, The Wrigley Building®, Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, Modern Luxury Weddings Chicago, Pioneer Court/Zeller (401 N. Returning to The Magnificent Mile after the inaugural event in September 2021, The Wrigley Building® Centennial Plaza on The Magnificent Mile© will transform back into a wedding venue for one day this fall for Weddings at Wrigley: An Enchanted Evening. This event provides a romantic conclusion of the Meet Me on The Mile series and an inspiring beginning for 40 pre-selected couples who will be wed in a free ceremony performed by volunteer judges from the Circuit Court of Cook County. More than 250 couples entered the internationally recognized and award-winning event’s contest, and on August 10, winning couples will be offered the opportunity to say, “yes” to this once in a lifetime experience.
